CONSERVATIVE PARTY NOMINATES JOSEPH TIRONE FOR STATE SENATE IN THE TWENTY-THIRD DISTRICT

The Conservative Party of New York State, in consultation with the county organizations in both Brooklyn and Staten Island, has nominated and authorized Joseph Tirone as the Conservative Party candidate for State Senate in the 23rd Senatorial District, which includes portions of both Kings and Richmond counties. Joseph Tirone will also be the candidate of the Republican Party, following a victory in the recent August primary.

“The need for change in Albany on every level is evident,” said New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar. “Joe Tirone is an agent for change. The Conservative Party, in nominating Joe, is once again showing its commitment to bringing common sense back to Albany.”

“Joe Tirone is a businessman with common sense ideas and conservative values that are sorely needed in the New York State legislature,” said Kings County Conservative Party Chairwoman Frances Vella-Marrone. “The Kings County Conservative Party is proud to have Joe on our line and look forward to victory in November.”

“As the fusion candidate of both the Conservative and Republican parties, Joe Tirone will be formidable in his contest for State Senate,” said Richmond County Conservative Party Chairman David Mario Curcio. “In addition to electing Congressman Lee Zeldin as our next governor, it is crucial that we end the democrat’s supermajority in the legislature. The election of Joe Tirone is an integral part of that effort to save our state.”

“As a conservative Republican who will work tirelessly to restore our New York, I’m honored to represent the Conservative Party in both Staten Island and Brooklyn for the November election in the 23rd Senate district,” said candidate Joseph Tirone. “Championing conservative values is the only way to keep our streets safe and address the crisis in education.”

This year’s general elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2022, with all Conservative Party nominees on Column “C” of the ballot.

CONSERVATIVE PARTY URGES VOTERS TO VOTE COLUMN “C” AND TO REJECT ALL FIVE BALLOT PROPOSITIONS BY VOTING “NO”

CONSERVATIVE PARTY PRESS RELEASE
Issued Jointly by the Five Counties in the City of New York

CONSERVATIVE PARTY URGES VOTERS TO VOTE COLUMN “C” AND TO REJECT ALL FIVE BALLOT PROPOSITIONS BY VOTING “NO”

The Conservative Party organizations representing the five counties of the City of New York urge voters to support its nominees by voting for its candidates on Column “C” and to reject all five ballot propositions by voting “NO” on each question. This recommendation is especially directed at Propositions 1, 3, and 4, each of which increases the potential for election fraud and
manipulation.

“This year’s ballot propositions will weaken the independent redistricting process and put it back in the hands of partisan politicians so that they can draw legislative district lines to serve their interests and not that of the electorate,” said Kings County Chairwoman Frances T. Vella-Marrone. “In addition, they will allow for same day voter registration, universal vote by mail and ballot
harvesting which will erode our electoral process and make it ripe for fraud. I urge all New York voters to vote NO!”

“A no vote on the ballot propositions is a vote for the people of the State of New York,” said New York County Chairman Stuart J. Avrick. “A yes vote is a vote for the politicians of the state who only care about their political jobs.”

“This is another attempt by the Democrats to change the rules so that they can stay in power,” said Bronx County Chairman Patrick McManus. “New Yorkers should be fed up at this point. It is about time New Yorkers vote down these propositions and vote these people out of office.”

“If adopted, these proposals would only further diminish public trust in the integrity of our elections,” said Richmond County Chairman David Mario Curcio, whose county organization endorsed the secession of Staten Island from the City of New York earlier this year. “Rather than expand the potential for fraud, New York should be adopting photo identification requirements and enhanced signature verification to assure the legitimacy of the electorate and
restore public confidence in our election results.”

Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, 2021, preceded by nine scheduled days of early voting. The Conservative Party encourages voters to VOTE COLUMN C and to VOTE NO on all five ballot proposal questions which will appear on the reverse side of the ballot.

CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONDEMNS ELIMINATION OF GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM FROM CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONDEMNS ELIMINATION OF GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM FROM CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Issued Jointly by the Five Counties in the City of New York
12 October 2021 / For Immediate Release
Contact: Frances T. Vella-Marrone, Tel. (347) 866-4945

The Conservative Party organizations representing the five counties of the City of New York unequivocally condemn the proposal to eliminate the “Gifted and Talented” program from the City’s public schools, as was recently announced by the mayor.

“The NYC Department of Education’s Gifted and Talented programs are the one shining constant in a system often plagued by counter culture wokes more interested in critical race theory than basic education,” said New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar. “It is not surprising that Mayor deBlasio, whose legacy is best reflected in New Yorker’s overwhelming desire to see him go, would make one of his last actions the effective elimination of a rare education success story.”

“The Mayor’s decision to end the Gifted and Talented Program is a continuation of his one-size-fits-all approach towards education,” said Bill Pepitone, Conservative Party candidate for Mayor. “Our children need goals to strive towards and a system that supports such, not one that continuously emphasizes and rewards mediocrity.”

“The lack of allowing input by parents of public school students at DOE is the main issue here,” said Tony Herbert, Conservative Party candidate for Public Advocate. “The mayor is just pulling another political stunt thinking he is here to save the day for Black and Brown students while undermining their ability to achieve. I agree with keeping and creating more Gifted and Talented program opportunities throughout the city and supporting better preparation of all our students to succeed in the testing!”

“As someone who attended one of the city’s public elementary schools and was a student in the gifted and talented program, it is disappointing to know that future generations will not have the same opportunity to benefit from this program,” said Richmond County Chairman David Mario Curcio, whose county organization endorsed the secession of Staten Island from the City of New York earlier this year. “This misguided decision is another example of the cancel culture and the latest communist attempt to diminish
individual accomplishment and achievement.”

“This is another attempt by our current administration to curtail individual excellence,” said Bronx County Chairman Patrick McManus. “This time deBlasio and his cohorts are attacking it at its roots; those most vulnerable, our children.”

“The NYC Department of Education should be expanding the Gifted and Talented programs, not eliminating them,” said Kings County Chairwoman Frances T. Vella-Marrone. “These programs give
students the opportunity to excel. This is another example of Mayor deBlasio dismantling a once great school system to suit his social agenda at the expense of the children of the City of New York.”

“This is another attempt by our ungifted and untalented mayor to prevent New York City’s children, mostly minorities, with an opportunity to better themselves,” said New York County Chairman Stuart J. Avrick.

This year’s general election contests, including those for City government, are scheduled for Tuesday, November 2nd, with Conservative Party candidates appearing on Column “C” of the ballot.

Kings County Conservative Party Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

NEW YORK – Today, the Kings County Conservative Party endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York.

Kings County Conservative Party Chairwoman Frances Vella-Marrone said,“Unlike our current Governor, who spends his time writing self-congratulatory books about leadership, Lee Zeldin leads by example. Lee Zeldin has a proven track record delivering for New York during his time in the New York State Senate and in Congress. From delivering much needed aid during the height of COVID-19, to being a fierce advocate for small business, Lee Zeldin stands in stark contrast to the failed policies, leadership, and example of Governor Cuomo and can help to save our state.”

To date, the Suffolk, Onondaga, Orange, Rockland, Westchester, Erie, New York, Madison, Orleans, Wayne, Nassau, Ontario, Richmond, Bronx, Broome, Genesee, Albany and Kings County Conservative Parties have endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin, representing 56% of the New York State Conservative Party’s weighted gubernatorial vote. 50% is needed to be the official designee of the Conservative Party for Governor.

###

About Lee Zeldin

Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and then his law degree from Albany Law School, becoming New York’s youngest attorney at the time at the age of 23.

Lee spent four years on Active Duty with the U.S. Army after completing ROTC and served in different capacities, including as a Military Intelligence Officer, Prosecutor, and Military Magistrate. In the summer of 2006, while assigned to the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division, Lee deployed to Iraq with an infantry battalion of fellow paratroopers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2007, Lee returned to Suffolk County with his family. It was at this time that Lee transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve, where he currently serves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

In 2008, Lee established a successful law practice in Smithtown, NY. Elected to the New York State Senate two years later, in 2010, Lee’s been working hard every day since to keep the promises he made to the hard-working families he represents.

In the State Senate, Lee successfully fought to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80 percent of employers, a job killing tax that was hurting small businesses. Lee led the successful efforts to repeal the Saltwater Fishing License Fee and create the PFC Joseph Dwyer Program, a statewide program in New York to help our returning veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Lee also wrote the law that protects our fallen veterans and their families from protests at military burials.

Lee was then elected to the United States Congress in 2014, representing New York’s First Congressional District, and quickly became a leading voice in America on top local, domestic and foreign policy issues.

Lee has secured many key victories for Long Island, which have included among many other successes:

  • Saving Plum Island, by securing the repeal of a 2008 federal law requiring the island to be sold off to the highest bidder. He also secured funding to repair the historic Plum Island Lighthouse and funding necessary to remediate environmental concerns on the island.
  • Delivering a $2 billion Electron Ion Collider project to Brookhaven National Lab.
  • Securing $8.3 billion in much needed funding to support treatment, enforcement, and prevention for those affected by the heroin and opioid abuse crisis.
  • Working with the Army Corps of Engineers to protect our coastlines, advancing the ambitious $1.5 billion Fire Island to Montauk Point project, in addition to several other vital projects on the north and south shores of Long Island.
  • Co-Chairing the Long Island Sound Caucus and delivering vast quantities of funding for the Long Island Sound Program, National Estuary Program and SeaGrant.
  • Introducing and passing into law his Adult Day Health Care legislation for disabled veterans and opening a new health care clinic for East End veterans.
  • Co-authoring a bipartisan resolution (H.Res. 246) that passed the House opposing the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.
  • Successfully resolving over 17,000 constituent cases in favor of NY-1 residents.
  • One of only two Jewish Republicans in Congress, Lee co-chairs the House Republican Israel Caucus, and serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Financial Services Committee. He also serves on four House Subcommittees.

Lee and his wife, Diana, reside in Shirley with their twin fourteen-year old daughters, Mikayla and Arianna.
