Holiday Spirit Not Destroyed by Hurricane, Local Pols Step Up. So can we!

While many have enjoyed thanksgiving and look forward to the holidays and New Year with  hope for better times, our local pols, regardless of Party or ideology have stepped up to the plate. We salute all for working with the legislature in Albany, the City government and the Federal government to advocate for relief, cut through red tape and deliver services to those in need, especially after the devastating hurricane.

As we enter the Christmas, Chanukah, Kwansaa season of reflection, prayer and action for the greater good, please take the time to check out the websites of our electeds for ways to help.

An example: Senator Golden, the Dyker Heights Civic Association and 68th Precinct Council have come together again for a toy drive.

Other services are being afforded by the Offices of State Senator Marty Golden, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, and Congressman Michael Grimm.

Check out their websites if you need a hand and just as importantly – if you can lend a hand. Government assistance helps, but individual efforts and contributions are what makes this country great.

Brooklyn Conservatives Honor Party Faithful at 50th Annual Reception

The Brooklyn Conservatives commemorated 50 years of active service and fighting the good fight on Wednesday November 15, 2012. The event had been rescheduled from November 1st due to the effects of hurricane Sandy and the relief efforts under way.

The event provided a needed respite and an enjoyable evening for a sizeable crowd of party members, elected officials and guests, who enjoyed good food, camaraderie and a chance to honor deserving individuals.

Mary Schmidt Roth received the James Gay Memorial Award for her years of dedicated service to the Party and the Conservative movement. Executive Committeemember Ronald G. Rice received the Jim Ryan Memorial Award for singularly outstanding achievement in 2012.

Brooklyn Conservatives look forward to the next 50 years!
