Perhaps the most awaited decision of the Supreme Court’s term was handed down on Thursday, June 28th. The Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision held that federal government cannot force people to purchase health insurance using the Commerce Clause of the Constitutution, but they could coerce us through the taxing power. As the Supreme Court stated in its decision in McCulloch v. Maryland, “the power to tax is the power to destroy.” President Obama and his liberal lacky Kirsten Gillibrand in the Senate are helping alter, if not destroy, the American system of government. Time to change direction. The recent healthcare decision may energize the Conservative movement to make that change. In New York, we are fortunate to have a strong candidate for U.S. Senate in Wendy Long who has campaigned to reverse Obamacare. We need her in the Senate now more than ever.
Conservative Party U.S. Senate Candidate Wendy Long will face-off against rivals for the Republican nomination in the Republican Primary on Tuesday, June 26th. The New York Post endorsed her in thet contest. Prior to the primary, Ms. Long will appear the weekly radio show “Ask the Lawyer” hosted by Brooklyn attorney Mike Connors – Principal of Connors and Sullivan. The show will air SATURDAY JUNE 23rd at 6pm.
All are encouraged to tune in and turn out.
Citing strong credentials and strength on national issues, the New York Post endorsed Wendy Long in the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate for Tuesday June 26th. Long defeated the other opponents a the Conservative Party convention earlier this year. The link to the post article is attached.
Wendy Long Shined at State Party 50th Anniversary – Looks Ahead to June 26th Primary in Republican Party
Many Brooklyn Conservatives attended the New York State Conservative Party’s 50th Anniversary dinner this past week. Jim Buckley spoke of his victorious run for U.S. Senate in 1970 as the Conservative candidate. Another parallel was drawn when Barbara Keating, the Party’s first female candidate and the current candidate Wendy Long appeared at the same event. Wendy Long’s qualifications and her electrifying campaign was commented on by all who attended, including the keynote speaker Sean Hannity, syndicated radio and television host and enrolled Conservative. Hannity subsequently endorsed Wendy Long. It was noted that Kirsten Gillibrand has been rated the most liberal U.S. Senator and needs to be challenged by the most Conservative candidate. Many Republicans were also in attendance and were reminded that there is a Republican primary for U.S. Senate on June 26th. The Conservative Party is urging all Republicans to turn out to vote for Wendy Long and the Party believes she best represents the needs and aspirations of New Yorkers and has the credentials and will to beat back Obamacare and oppose New York’s other liberal Senator.
A great night was had for the State Conservative Party and its friends. Wendy Long will be the Conservative Party candidate for U.S. Senate in November. It is hoped that both the Conservative Party and the Republican Party will be united behind Wendy Long after the primary on Tuesday, June 26th. It will be up to the Republicans to make that happen.

The Brooklyn Conservatives gathered as they have for years to raise the MIA/POW flag at SHore Road and 81st street. Ghairman Jerry Kassar reminded all of the history of the site of the liberty pole from its time of the Spanish American war and of the remaining American Service men and women missing in action. Boy scouts and community members joined, ensuring our future will remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure it. Following the commemoration, Brooklyn Conservatives marched in the Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade in which State Chair Michael Long was honored.
